Those of you who watch Jeopardy! on a semi-regular basis might know what I just did - I have the same post title as yesterday but just omitted the comma. I love it when they have a category on Jeopardy! in the first round, and the Double Jeopardy! round includes the same category, but spelled differently (ex. Nowhere Man vs. No Wear, Man). Did I mention I'm a word nerd? :D
Okay! On to the topic! Yes, it's all about targets today, but this time we're going to talk about actual targets, like these:
I was lucky to snap these up at my friend Kim Geiser's place last year during Inspire my Life. I love how little they are - I never would've guessed that such tiny targets would be used when practicing shooting! Either the folks who use these have terrific aim, or they're a model of some kind. Whatever they're for, there's a lot of good stuff going on here - that gorgeous creamy ecru that just screams "vintage"; bold patterns; fantastic wording and logos - I just love everything about them.
I'm not a fan of guns, though - I fired one once and it scared the bejeebers out of me. It was not a pleasant experience and I will not be doing it again. However, that doesn't mean that I think they should be outlawed (except assault rifles - they have no business in civilians' hands, in my opinion). Here in Wisconsin, we have a time-honored deer hunting tradition that (again, my opinion) I feel is necessary to thin out the herd. I'd rather a sportsperson shoot a deer and use it for venison and sell the pelt rather than hit that poor thing with my car and harm my woodland friend AND myself. Deer-vehicle accidents happen so often around here, and they're very scary. Many of my friends have been involved in one - some more than once! YIKES.
Because I'm not a fan of guns, I will have NO problem cutting these babies up! In fact, I already have - I made this pendant a few months back, with a specific customer in mind. And I was right - my champion trap shooter friend Tracy snagged it right up. Thanks Tracy! :D
