Another Monday Giveaway!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, full of fun and laughter!  I'm not ready for the weekend to be over just yet so let's keep that weekend momentum going, shall we?  :D

How would you like to win a $25 gift certificate from The Paper Flea Market?!  Well, you just might!  All you have to do is post a comment, either here or on the Facebook page, and tell us your favorite holiday.  Could be Christmas, could be Hanukkah, could be Arbor Day - it doesn't matter!  Just let us know and be sure to include your e-mail address in the "name(at)domain(dot)com" format so I can let you know that you won.  If you don't include your e-mail address, you won't be considered!  So don't forget!  I'll keep the contest going until this Friday, December 9, at 5 p.m. CST. Hopefully you all will have entered by then!  :D

On behalf of myself and Trina and the gang over at the Paper Flea market, we'd like to thank you for entering the contest and wish you good luck!  :D

  2. My favorite holiday is also the Fourth of July. I actually wrote a poem about it, but I can't find it. The poem does start with, "Leaping lumps of leather..." in reference to the frogs that used to jump around the lake near my grandfather's house in White Cloud, Michigan.

  5. I love the Winter Solstice. It's the calm before the frenzy. Candles, warm beverages before the fire, and weather permitting, a walk under the stars. We pause to turn the season and think about the winter to come and how it shapes our lives. Thanks!

  6. I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Not just because of how pretty autumn is, but because of getting in the mood for the upcoming Christmas season.

  11. My favorite is Mother's Day. I put together a tea party luncheon for the ladies, including tea cups and saucers (from the thrift stores) filled with decadent chocolates and wrapped in saran wrap for them to take home; I make a couple of cold and hot teas, along with tea sandwiches and a few different edibles and a gift to the person with the best hat or fastenator. Gloves optional:) It's a great opportunity to pull out the fancy tablecloths and napkins and everyone always love my tea parties:)

  12. Christmas is my favorite, followed by Easter. Christmas because it's so much fun to watch the kids. Now that I have a grandchild it is super fun. Easter, I like to celebrate Spring, and it's the only time my house is big enough to have the extended families over - if we can spread out into the yard for an egg hunt.

  13. It's a tie between Halloween and my birthday. I LOVE my birthday and I love celebrating other's birthdays, too. It's the day your spirit came to this earth - how amazing!

  14. Christmas and Halloween are tied! I love to decorate for both (cutsie/vintage Halloween not gruesome) and love the time off for Christmas and the 'no presents required' for Halloween. Sometimes Christmas wins out because my birthday is on the 27th and I've always felt like the winter break was for me =it's a great big gift to be out of school from 12/17 until after the New Year! Who else gets all that free time off for their birthday?? : )

  15. Halloween is the best! Not only did I love the opportunity to be someone else that night, but now I just adore greeting the kids at my door. I put up pumpkin lights in the hopes of attracting lots of kids!
I've already been a Paper Flea Market customer- it would be fun to go on a spree!

  16. I'm all about the New Year's Eve - our Christmas decor still looks festive and brightly sparkling, the champagne is ALSO festive and brightly sparkling, and Companion & I settle in with a table-ful of fancy hors d'oeuvre & a stack of rock & roll concert dvds to pop in after we've rung in the New Year on Eastern Time with Anderson and Kathy on CNN. Then we rock out until our eyes slam shut - usually about 2:30 or 3 am. Not bad for a couple of middle-aged ladies! And a fine way to start our next year off with a flourish!

LOVE the Paper Flea Market, and no surprise, lots of the ingredients I get from there are part of my holiday decor. Sure hope I can add a little more to my stash! xoxo

  17. I think Christmas is my favorite Holiday because it generates so much ephemera...and a few other reasons, too! That consumerism aspect is the reason I said "think" it is my favorite and that it is not a sure top piok. We will not be able to fullfill out kids' toy wish list...a fantasy that would be fun for everyone involved. With so much build-up for one day, how could it not be a let-down in some ways? But then, driving around town together looking at the lights and decorations and then home for cookies and cocoa~ what could be better?
    Happy Holidays, Everyone! ~Erin
