We Passed a Milestone!

(Which is far nicer than passing a kidney stone.)  :D

Dear fellow Ephmeraologists,

We did it!  We passed the *300* mark on the Ephemeraology Facebook page!  :D  You may already be able to tell, but I'm quite excited about it.

And, as promised, we're going to celebrate this milestone with a Giveaway!!!

As any of you past winners already know, I make my ephemera packs WELL worth the effort of signing up to win.  You will receive one manila envelope with a lot of ephemera stuffed in it (by "stuffed" I mean, "lots of stuff carefully packed" - it'll arrive in good condition!).

I'll make it super easy to enter, too!  Here's what you do:

1.  If you haven't already, go to the Ephemera Facebook page and "like" it.
2.  If you haven't also done this, begin "following" this blog (just hit "follow" on the very top left of this page)
3.  In the comments below, tell me your favorite era.  For example, I'm quite specific on mine: 1948-1954 (it has the BEST advertising!).  I will also need your e-mail in the "name(at)domain(dot)com" format so I know how to contact you.
4.  Voila ici!  You're entered!  :D

I'll be drawing the winner this Wednesday at 5 p.m. CDT so get your name in ASAP!

Best of luck to all of you, and I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your readership and support.  It still just delights me that you enjoy reading my blog, something that I enjoy writing very much.  It's so nice to know that there are others out there who share my passion for vintage ephemera!  Ephemeraologists unite!

  4. Congrats on the milestone! And thanks for the chance to win stuff! (I like winning stuff1 ) hard to pick an era! I kind of like the early 1900's, but, I also really like the 20's and 30's, but then again, the 40's and 50's is really cool, too...!! I guess I vote for the 20's-30's, especially the "flapper" girl look in some of the advertisements, photos, etc! :)

  5. Congrats on your milestone! Your work is fantastic:) I love love love the 40's and 50's. I also love anything with a Spanish/Mexican "flair". Thanks for such a generous give away!

  7. Congratulations, Mel! We're so excited for you! Wonderful. We've already done all that fun stuff and we'll share your good news & give-away now!

  8. forgot to tell you my favorite era - Late 19th century through 1919!

  9. Congrats! Milestones are important! SO hard to pick a favorite era, though I do prefer things that are in the earlier half of the 20th century. I think I'd have to say Late Victorian and Edwardian so that would be 1900 - 1920's. Though I do like mid-century modern also, just not the advertising or cookbooks. I'm very specific! LOL

  10. Mine also is Victorian England. Love those Dickens's novels!

Congrats on hitting your milestone!! Annie from SilverCrow sent me! :)My favorite era would be the 40's!

  12. Woo hoo congratulations!
I also love the 1950's - best advertising!

  13. In terms of visual elements, I also love the very same era you do, plus perhaps just a few years earlier, and possibly up to 1960. These are the stuff of my childhood, and always rich with memories. What period are the old linen postcards from? I love those, too. Patsy Z,

  14. Congratulations! I'm proud to say I've been following you since you started the Ephemeraology page on FB (I figured anyone who can make up words is well worth following :D

My favorite era is the one in which I was born - the 1960s. Actually, anything 1950s - 1960s is pretty great!

  15. I'm new to Ephemera, but I would agree with the 1940's and 50's era. akartisan (at) gmail (dot com

  16. Mel...Congrats at hitting 300!! Love your blog and your art. You always have such fun contests too. Really tough to pick a time period, but I think I would say 1960' much happened in that decade.

  17. I don't see a "Follow" to click on. :o( My favorite era is ... old! Can't be quite as specific as you, but anything before I was born is interesting to me. especially if I can alter it and make it new! Also the 60's and 70's!
Cool stuff here! Love it! Patrice at
