Paper Flea Market

This is the second of four blog posts about my new advertisers! These folks are wonderful, personable people with whom I have dealt directly and I am proud to patronize. I hope you'll discover how great they are too!

What can a good logo do for you?  It can draw you in and let you discover a wonderful place - at least that's what happened when I saw the Paper Flea Market logo in a magazine.  And when I discovered the shop online, I was just mesmerized by all of the different paper and ephemeral goodies!

You never know what you're going to get in Trina's shop - that's part of the fun!  It's like visiting a virtual antique store or, well, flea market.  :D  How did Trina get started in the paper biz?  This is what she has to say:

"I've been a collector and user of lovely old treasures and ephemera for many years ... before I ever even *heard* the word ephemera. I think it comes from my maternal grandmother who saved *everything*.

She lived during the Great Depression. Years later, she worked at a Goodwill and had an eye for good stuff. Each room of her house was crammed with wonderful treasures. When we'd tell her we were coming for a visit, she'd say, "I'll clear a path for you." And she meant it.
Fast forward to the summer of 2007. I was looking around at my own collection and got to thinking I'd never be able to use all these wonderful finds in my artwork in my lifetime. Thus the idea for the store was born."

Trina's destashing is our gain.  I've gotten some wonderful treasures from her shop over the past 2 1/2 years!  My favorites are the U-Pick pages and all of the state puzzle pieces that I've gotten there - those come in really handy when you're doing a collage about Wisconsin.  :D

Over the coming months we'll be doing giveaways for Paper Flea Market gift certificates!  Stay tuned, because we'll be announcing these on random dates and you don't want to miss the opportunity to snag one of these!

Thanks so much, Trina, for putting my art in your shop gallery and for being a part of my blog - so great to have you aboard!

Here are some of the pieces I've done using items from the Paper Flea Market:

"Powerful" ATC, using U-Pick pages

"Dairy State" ATC, using a state puzzle piece
